Why I Started The Stang Blog — As a Real Estate Lawyer

As a lawyer, I kept running into the same issue: people didn’t understand what their contracts actually said. Or worse—they thought they did. I’d see clients sign documents they hadn’t read, agents hand out addenda without explaining them, and investors who were making six-figure decisions based on someone else's Google search.
I started The Stang Blog to fix that. Not by giving legal advice—but by offering legal perspective.
This space isn’t about showing off case law. It’s about pulling back the curtain on what really matters in real estate law—how deals go sideways, what loopholes people miss, and how to spot the red flags before they cost you.
In Legal Lab, I write the way I talk. Direct. Plain. Real. If it’s confusing on purpose, I’ll break it down. If it’s a trap buried in a form, I’ll flag it. If it’s a pattern I keep seeing in court, I’ll share it here first.
Real estate law doesn’t have to be a mystery. It just has to be told by someone who’s lived it.
Welcome to The Stang Blog.
This is Legal Lab. Where the lawyer finally talks straight.
